Resources for LEGO® Education MINDSTORMS  RCX

Full LEGO Education RCX kit

Introduced in 1998, the LEGO® Education MINDSTORMS for Schools RCX robotics platform centered around the RCX (Robot Command eXplorer) brick, a programmable LEGO brick. This brick contains a microcontroller and provides ports for three inputs and three outputs. It typically interacts with three sensors – the Touch Sensor, Light Sensor, and Rotation Sensor, and can control up to three motors. Six AA batteries power the system. The RCX connects to a computer via an (USB or serial) IR transmitter tower, facilitating program uploads to the RCX. The kit also includes a variety of LEGO bricks, gears, and structural elements, allowing for the construction of diverse robotic models. This platform is specifically designed to teach the fundamentals of robotics and programming through a hands-on approach.
